Our club stepped up to support Big Brothers and Big Sisters for there big fundraiser Over The Edge. Giving back to our community is an exciting and rewarding experience.
For more than 30 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 7 through 18, throughout eastern Iowa and western Illinois. We develop positive friendships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
OVER THE EDGE is a day of accomplishment, a day of “high fives”, hugs and pats on the back. It’s a day of thanks for supporting children in the Quad Cities who are facing adversity. This year they raised $160,000 and 90 people rappelled down 11 stories of the Hotel Blackhawk in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters in our community.
A special thanks to Riverbend Photographers: Laura Mullen, Richard Heap, Greg Boll, Jackie Gerse, and Jay Brooks.
We encourage others in our club to get involved in these events by sharing their love of photography with others.
Every image below tells a story, and we truly loved being part of this event.
