Our club has been the official photographers of the last two Honor Flights. Giving back to our country's veterans is an exciting and rewarding experience. A special thanks goes to our May 30th Honor Flight volunteers.
Photographers: Mike Fitzgerald, Tim Brandenburg, ( I shot candids). Just as important as the photographers are the helpers that organized the 105 veterans for there pictures: Helpers: Marcia Eckerman, Laurie Liljequist, and Scott Davis. Other volunteers that have helped for years were also there. Penny Lundeen, with many years of experience, was a real help to us. We had a total of seven helpers. We started shooting at 5:30 am and finished around 6:30.
Our photo editors: Jackie Gerse, Michael Zecher, and Paula Scherbroeck They started at 7:30am and edited over 105 images by 1:30pm. These images were presented to the veterans that evening when they returned to the Quad Cities.
When their flight landed at 10:30 that evening, Greg Boll, Scott Davis and myself tried to capture the overwhelming greeting our veterans received. The emotion of this event can not be explained in words, you must experience it. Every image below tells a story, and we have been honored to be part if it.
