In early November, Bill Case and Mark Gromko spent three days photographing in the Cache River Wildlife Area, in the southernmost tip of Illinois. We were lucky to catch peak color in the Bald Cypress and Swamp Tupelo. On days one and three, we had a guide. We photographed from kayaks in the swamp on the north side of Cache River on days one and two, and in a series of connected ponds on day three. We saw no other people on any of three days on the water.
